"Making you and your pet great companions for life"

Our most commonly asked questions.

IN-BOARD training-

What determines the lenght of my dog's stay? Mostly the program. The way the training program is laid out is in phases. Each phase take a certian amount of time and all together typically takes 3 weeks (for the Basic program). On occasion a dog may need a little extra time to perfect the new behaviors requiring up to a week additional.

Is there additional cost if my dog needs to stay longer? No. Your paying for the training not the length of time it takes your dog to accomplish it.

Will my dog remember me? Yes. Dogs do not have perception of time like humans. They won't relaize they are gone for a day or 21 days. It's all the same to the.

Can I visit my dog during his/her training? Visiting during training is strongly discouraged. This often causes the training to backslide.

If TLCC does the training will my dog listen to me? Yes. Much like the dogs they train for the blind or handicap, trained by an organization then adopted to their new homes. This is why follow up sessions are important. To show you how to use your dogs new training.

Where will my dog be kept? As I work out of my home, your dog will live in my home for the duration of his/her stay. When I can not give your dog my full attention he/she will be crated. This is done for several reasons. 1. SAFETY- your dogs and others in my home. If a dog is crated I can be positive that it is not injuring itself or eating something that may upset it's stomach. 2. TRAINING- If I can control the situation I can set your dog up for successful training. By not allowing unwanted behaviors I promote desired ones. 3. OTHER DOGS- Not all dogs can learn in high distraction. This allows me one-on-one time with each dog.

How many dogs do you have at one time? I limit my training dogs to a maximum of three. However with my rescues often I only will take in 1-2.
